Our starting reference is the lighthouse path car park, rather than the beach or central l’Albir. The council places the lighthouse 2.5 kilometres from that point, so allow for the same distance back. Save the precise trailhead before leaving your accommodation and account separately for any walk from your transport stop. This paved itinerary is distinct from the much more demanding traverse along the Serra Gelada ridge.
Leave time to look around
The council's easy-read guide introduces the lighthouse, Torre Bombarda and former ochre workings among the area's landmarks. These give you a way to connect the coast with navigation and earlier uses of the landscape while remaining on the path. If you want to enter the lighthouse interpretation centre, check its opening arrangements separately: completing the walk does not guarantee that the building is open or that a guided visit is available.
Families and mobility requirements
A paved surface and resting areas make it easier to plan an unhurried outing. Even so, a five-kilometre return walk requires a realistic view of the group's stamina and individual needs. With children, spread breaks across both directions. If you use a wheelchair or need assistance on gradients, ask about current access and resting arrangements; improvements to the route's accessibility do not replace checking whether it meets your particular requirements.

Choose your departure time around the heat and wind forecast, and check park notices before travelling. No. It is the council's distance between the path's car park and the lighthouse. Returning to that starting point makes approximately five kilometres, excluding any additional walking.
Is this the route across Serra Gelada?
No. This guide covers only the paved lighthouse path. The ridge traverse involves different terrain, ascent and arrangements for getting back.
