A river with a shared history
The Generalitat describes the protected landscape's connection with the Alcoi-Gandia railway and industrial activity. Its cycling guide places a route between l'Orxa and Villalonga, following the river past tunnels and former infrastructure. The attraction is that combination of scenery and heritage, rather than collecting kilometres or trying to link the entire former railway.
Check the section, not just the name
The tourism publication notes uneven waymarking and maintenance. This guide therefore does not present the corridor as a continuously improved path suitable for every bicycle or pushchair. Check current local information on incidents, surfaces and crossings, particularly after rain. Carry lighting for tunnels and select a section that matches your companions' actual experience.
