Begin with the Salt Museum
The Salt Museum serves as the park's interpretation centre. It is approached from Santa Pola's urban area beside Avenida de Zaragoza. Check opening arrangements before visiting and use this first stop to locate itineraries and understand the work carried out at the salt pans.
Look at the whole landscape
The park brings together salt works, pools, dune environments and other habitats. Birds are a major reason to visit, but noticing how vegetation changes beside the water is part of the experience too. Binoculars let you observe without approaching the banks or interrupting wildlife activity.
Plan where to stop
Choose access points and itineraries identified by the park; seeing water or birds from a road does not turn the roadside into a viewpoint. Respect working areas and restricted spaces. Bring water and sun protection and check the forecast, without assuming shade or facilities will be available throughout the visit.

Do the Salt Museum and the park have the same opening arrangements?
Do not assume they coincide. Confirm museum opening and itinerary conditions separately. An open visitor centre does not determine access to every part of the wetland.
Am I guaranteed to see flamingos?
No. Sightings depend on timing and bird movements. Enjoy the wetland as a whole and watch from permitted areas, without pursuing wildlife to obtain a photograph.
