At Villena's Atalaya, notice the tower and its vaults as well as the outline of the walls. Biar continues the story of these fortresses, with interpretation explaining its development. Leave room in your day for the historic town centres surrounding both castles.
Petrer: history on a different scale
The cave houses in Petrer's castle walls bring the visit closer to everyday life. These excavated homes offer a different perspective, moving from fortification to domestic space. Choose stops according to your accommodation and confirm any booked or guided visits first. Allow time for lunch, parking and the climb from the town centre. Should I visit all three castles on the same day?
