Gata de Gorgos introduces Marina Alta through basketry, plant fibres and shops selling objects for everyday life. It deserves a walk of its own, beyond a quick purchase on the way to the coast. Notice how shapes, weaving and finishes change between a basket, a lamp and a piece of furniture. Asking about materials and who made each item turns a shop window into a conversation about the craft. Do not assume that everything sold in a shop was made there, or that every fibre needs the same care.

Allow time for the town and confirm the opening arrangements of shops that interest you. For commissions or large items, check dimensions, realistic lead times, delivery and care before paying. Watching an artisan at work or joining a demonstration requires an arrangement or an advertised activity; it is not a guaranteed daily service.
