Choose an adventure that suits you

A morning in a kayak and a day of climbing need different preparation, even when both begin beside the same Mediterranean coast. The Region of Valencia's official adventure tourism directory lets you search for businesses by province and municipality: use it to locate an operator in Alicante, then examine the actual activity being offered. Start with what you would enjoy, your experience and the time available; choose the location afterwards.

Before booking, request the precise meeting point, proposed route, level of exertion and technical requirements. Explain whether you have done the activity before and ask which equipment is supplied, what you should bring and which language the briefing uses. An activity described as suitable for beginners may still involve swimming, uneven ground or exposure to heights.

Allow time for the journey, changing clothes and recovery. Check the arrangements for wind, waves, rain or restrictions in natural areas, and who decides whether to change the route or cancel. If your party has mixed abilities, request a plan that suits everyone. A useful first conversation should leave you understanding the day ahead, rather than guessing from a dramatic photograph.
